About Implementation 2022
Implementation 2021 is a program that helps actualise the goals and aspirations of NEMA. Implementation 2021 gathers all the data and technical resources gain over the years by the organization and creates an implementation plan. The program will provide the human and material resources needed to from discussion, planning to implementation. The 72-page business plan is a revolving system that will be evaluated and improved during the cycle.
1. REBUILD
The first step after a disaster is reported is to re-shelter the victims and provide basic necessities to avoid further crisis emanating from exposure to dangerous climatic conditions. Temporary homes will be built quickly after disasters by mobilizing the private sector and assigning a single point of contact to make the home rebuilding process faster and more predictable.
PREPARE
Preparedness has always been in the lacking when natural disasters occur. The unpredictability of natural disasters are major causes of unpreparedness. As part of the recovery efforts, the economy must be revamped with urgency. Preparing home and business owners prior to and following disaster with specific steps will help mitigate risk and improve resilience. Alternate farming methods with produce that grow faster.
2. SHARE
Rebuilding innovations, experience and knowledge gathered from previous disasters will be shared with other rebuilding organizations to allow for efficient, predictable recovery on a national scale. Sharing information will help in the preparedness process and mobilise reinforcement timely during a disaster thereby shrining the time between disaster and recovery.
Environment & Sustainability
Environmental protective measures and sustainability must be given the utmost attention prior to a disaster. Policy makers must be advised to immediately respond after a disaster has occurred so they can deploy resources and funds sooner, and in a way that empowers an efficient recovery. Advocate for the reform of disaster recovery strategies and create awareness in the Nigeria to improve the predictability and recovery time.
