We are confident that TONWEI REFINERY & Annex Projects are very viable projects and unique of its kind in the history of our Dear Country Nigeria, not only being the first private refinery that we seek to establish; It is also a step in the right direction towards economic empowerment and actual human capacities development which is consistent with Federal Government Transformation Plan like in other developed countries; World Programmes aimed at improving the lot of the people in the Niger Delta Area and Nigeria in
general.
 

We witnessed several challenges at all levels initially and especially following the restive situation in the Niger Delta over the past years, has now become a thing of the past. However, the company took laudable steps against all huddles in the process of establishing the refinery and other projects.

Albeit, our Company has been approached by various International Investment Companies, Banks etc…and vice versa; we however believe that picking up the Funding options, Banks and Country’s Operational Base amongst other factors remained vital decision to make. As such, Switzerland or Belgium being countries reputably known for transparent business and banking transactions; suggested that our companies will create the much needed leverage for the projects to move from incubation stage to the eventual birth of the First
Privately Owned Refinery in Black Africa amongst other projects in Nigeria operating from Europe. Interestingly, as for the Guarantee of our project(s) funding arrangements...; TONWEI Refinery has the approval of and full backup from the World Bank Group (MIGA & IFC). We have been relating with them since 2003 till date on TONWEI Projects...Insurance /Bank Guarantees shall be issued if need be, from
them...The EX-IM Bank Group of New York, USA also offered Indicative Terms & Conditions for Loan Facility. The Republic of China has equally indicated interest of funding TONWEI Projects through some of their reputable firms at all levels.
 

We have chosen reliable Construction and Engineering Firms within Europe for the studies of the complete project; Construction, Design, Production/Operations plus Maintenance Activities and Training. All their CV's provided and references given were transmitted to the Federal Government in Nigeria, placed as pre-qualified. We are effectively relating with countries:-USA, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Switzerland and United Kingdom and Serbia, Monte-Negro and Ukraine, others from Western/Eastern Europe. Australian Companies equally have some participatory roles in specified areas of the projects.

High demand for Crude Oil & Derivatives, notably in China & USA (Nigeria is Fifth Producer of Crude Oil Worldwide having one the best sweet crude products easy to refine).
 

Population advantage: Approximately One Hundred & Sixty Million Inhabitants; Great market for World Traders and Exchange/Transfer of both Old and New Technologies etc. Nigeria has the biggest marketing opportunities in Africa being the most populated in the continent. However, her corrupt reputations and wrong habits can easily be curtailed with strict measures and control with proper planning put in place.

 

PROJECT PROMOTERS
 

Prince TONGUBOR, George Timi - Chairman, Founder and Chief Promoter of TONWEI Refinery Ltd./Group of Companies. Prince TONGUBOR is a native of Bayelsa / Delta States - two of Nigeria’s oil-rich regions. Prince TONGUBOR lived in France for over 30 years, where he established his first company TONWEI Investments Ltd. He spent most of his stay in France conducting researches with various energy producing companies on how to establish an environmental-friendly oil refinery in his states of origin in Nigeria. In June, 2002 - With a well planned feasibility study, the Nigerian government issued TONWEI Refinery a License to Establish a 100 000 x 2 BPSD (Phase 1 & 2). Besides, TONGUBOR is an Ex-Military Personnel, whose school mates are all today Serving Generals in both Military/Para-Military Forces like (Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Federal Road Safety corps etc.) We intend to introduce Joint Security Units around the area with the Ex-Militants to be able to work with them in Harmony. TONWEI has a licensed Security Organization established in Nigeria to protect and secure territories where we shall be operational and to protect our personnel and equipment.

 

Dr. Tom Thaddaeus Ewepu THOMPSON, PhD, MS - Vice Chairman and Director of Corporate Affairs. Core specialization:  Economist, Global Business Management, Thompson and Prince Tongubor were the first two pioneers of TONWEI and have worked together for 30 years as Tonwei Projects Partners. Thompson has doctorate in Economics, Executive MBA in Global Business Management, and 30+ years of executive management experience. Former CEO (T&T Music Records, Inc., USA, and TTCAL Group, USA, General manager MCM Records, Switzerland). A prince and native of Nigeria’s oil rich Bayelsa State. Thompson also served as Vice President of BSC Solutions, Inc., USA. In 2012 awarded Member of the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society of Outstanding Leadership, USA.

 

Barrister LARRY Selekeowei of Larry S. & Co. Barristers and Solicitors is a Senior Advacate of Nigeria (SAN) as well as a Consultant to the Federal Legislators at the National Assembly in Abuja Nigeria. Larry S. & Co. remains the Company Secretary to TONWEI Refinery Limited.

The TONWEI Organisation has good reputable silent partners around the globe. We of TONWEI group works hard enough to maintain strict discretion and transparency as our well protected standard. Security issues back home in Nigeria shall adequately be cared for and would be put under control. Most of the Militancy Youths in the Niger Delta (Bayelsa, Delta & Rivers States) has worked for TONWEI Projects at one time or the other…since the days of the then famous Brass Refinery Project period to the beginning of the Niger Delta Crisis from 2003-2009. They all know the Chairman, Founder and Chief Promoter (my humble self) as a Driving Force for Economic Emancipation and Developments in the entire Niger Delta area.
