OUR CONCEPTUAL STUDIES & BUSINESS PLANNING -
BACKGROUND NOTES

Businesses, Lodging, Refinery Management Staff & Families

SUMMARY: TONWEI™ Group plans to build a new city near the Refinery to accommodate and house about 4500 of its employees and various businesses. Tonwei's main goal is to turn the resourseful waterline into one of the most modern cities in subsaharan Africa. The TONWEI™ City, which will be roughly 3 km away from the industrial area, will be equipped with very modern amenities and infrastructure. The residential area will be located at the western part of the industrial area and the public offices will be located at the city center among other facilities such as banks, shopping malls, social clubs, restaurants, etc. Other units will include a Purified Water Production Plant and a Waste Recycling Plant. The Purified Water Production Plant will be located at the northern axes of the city and the Waste Recycling Plant at the south. Electricity will be sufficient and supplied by petroleum/gas energy plants each with a capacity of 25 000 kw / h. One home is estimated to accommodate eight persons and the number of houses to be constructed is 1200, with all the living facilities considered. The urban center will have galleries of small shops, social activities, bookstores, movie theatres, etc. Educational standards will conform to or will be better than the Federal and Local government standards, and will have a provision for private institutions. The plan includes a Security Organization to be set up to protect facilities in and around the zone. Completion of the city will require 1800 workers running 2 periods of 8 hours of work shifts of 90 workers.
